After many failed attempts at couponing I have decided that I would once again try. This time I came with back up. Beanie and Nanners have taken a liking to this money saving thing. They like cutting out the coupons, hunting down the items in the store and figuring out how much something will cost us after the coupon. (Umm, hello there math skills, economics, marketing, etc)
Part of the reason I always gave up before was that I never seemed to have the coupon when I needed it, and I would find it a few days later---expired.
NO MORE! We picked out a pretty pink binder (think easily spotted and on sale), along with baseball card holders and went at it. Nanners did the cutting, Beanie sorted into the correct categories and I stuffed them into their sleeves. It took FOREVER!!! Not totally sure we'll stick with this method, I want to give it a go for a month or so before we give up.
So far we have saved a bundle. On a recent Safeway trip we got 17 bags of chips, 6 12packs of soda, 2 boxes of Ritz crackers, 3 boxes of granola bars, 3 boxes of Hamburger Helper, 10 pounds of potatoes,a container of sour cream and 2 bags of grapes for under 50 bucks. I felt elated leaving the store, I knew I could have saved even more but it takes a while to build up you supply of coupons so I was satisfied with what I got. Maybe next time I'll post pictures.
